Vinification method: Frank Cornelissen is the owner of 19 hectares of vines high up on Mount Etna. He has been involved in wine his entire life. As the son of a wine broker in Belgium, he was immersed in wine on a professional level from a very young age. Frank went on to produce his first wine in 2001, starting with only 0.40 hectares of vines. He is a meticulous vineyard worker, and keeps an extremely clean and organized cellar. The evolution of his wines is intriguing as well. Earlier vintages were linear, angular, precise, and full of minerality. He's often said that in the early days his goal was to create liquid stone. His wine style has since softened, now striking balance between fruit and dynamic minerality.

"Munjebel" is a blend of two indigenous Sicilian grapes, hand-harvested from the volcanic soils of Mt. Etna with an average vine age of 40 years. After harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and macerate on the skins for 4 days in epoxy tanks. The wine ages in those same tanks before being bottled unfined, very gently filtered, and with no added S02.
