GRAPE: 100% ROUSSANNE
SKIN CONTACT: 13 DAYS
REGION: EL DORADO, CALIFORNIA
Vinification Method: D&G started making skin ferment Roussanne back in 2007 before the term orange wine was even coined. It was initially made this way in hopes of driving the natural fermentation to completion, but by 2009 Jared & Tracey decided the potential for such a wine — especially with food pairings — was extraordinary and they never looked back. This is their 11th vintage making Stone Crusher. Vine is from single vineyard Elen Ridge and grows on fine-grained loam, acidic residuum weathered
from granite. Fermented in wild yeasts & bacteria, 13 days in open top wood vat. Aged for 10 months in neutral French oak.
Tasting Notes: Medium to full bodied, smoke, juicy apricot and jasmine tea
Pairing: Pork chops with mustard greens; pomegranate goat cheese salad
Mix and match 3, 6 or 12 bottles!
