Vinification method: The young couple of Julia Nather and Josef Schenter are making waves on the Austrian wine scene with bottlings coming from their Demeter-certified vineyard in Kamptal. Their goal with their wines is to change the somewhat imposing, classical reputation of Kamptal to a hub for naturally produced wines.
For "Grundstein," the rare Gelber Muskateller grapes are hand-harvested from a single, north-facing vineyard surrounded by forest. The grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation and have 24 hours of skin contact. Unfined, unfiltered, and a minimal amount of S02 added.
