Vinification method: The joint venture project of Šroner Sütö was born through friendship. Zsolt Sütö of Strekov 1075 partnered with friend Peter Šroner after he planted his first 5 hectares of grapes in 2018. Peter was relatively new to winemaking, so he didn't have production facilities. Zsolt decided to allow his friend to utilize his winery in 2020, and boom - the collaboration was born. Today both winemakers use biodynamic practices and focus on growing local grape varieties for their wines.
"Šupkáč" - slang in Slovakian for "skin contact" - comes from Welchriesling grapes handpicked in September. The grapes were macerated and fermented on the skins for 2 weeks in open casks, gently stirring when needed. The free-run juice spent 7 months aging in 300/500L oak barrels before being bottled by gravity. Unfined, unfiltered, with no added SO2.
