Vinification method: Winemaker Emzar Vasadze makes natural kvevri wine in his own wine cellar (marani) following Georgian traditional methods. One of the characteristic features of macerated Georgian wines - tannin - inspired his winery's name. The wine cellar is located in Kakheti, at an altitude of 1250 meters. Due to the high altitude creating unique climactic conditions, Emzar has found his wine is at its best when left on the skins until the end of May, thus giving his wines their special texture and aroma.
This wine comes from Georgia's famed Rkatsiteli grapes, hand-harvested in 2019. The grapes spend 5 months on their skins in stainless steel tanks before aging in the same vessels. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, no added S02.
