GRAPES: 100% GRENACHE GRIS
SKIN CONTACT: 21 DAYS
REGION: ROUSILLON, FRANCE
Vinification method: Farming 2 hectares of his own vines in a beautiful piece of land by the sea, Vincent Lafage is a true artist. While Vincent’s youthful energy and demeanor are alone enough to lure you in, his creations are that of a winemaker well into their careers, expertly woven into wines of depth, freshness, and elegance. Vincent’s farming, too, is top notch; just ask Alice Bouvot of Domaine de l‘Octavin and mentor Patrick Bouju, who clamor year after year for some of his fruit. A budding master, no doubt, and wines that may certainly establish themselves in and among the new guard of Roussillon.
Grapes are 100% manually harvested into boxes, with strict selection of bunches. The Grenache Gris grapes are de-stemmed before they undergo 3 weeks of maceration in stainless steel, with multiple punch-downs. Then, the grapes are taken off the skins and aged in Terra Cotta amphorae for 6 months Unfiltered, unfined, no added SO2.
