2022
GRAPES: GRENACHE BLANC AND MARSANNE
SKIN CONTACT: 30 DAYS
REGION: LANGUEDOC, FRANCE
Producer: After 6 seasons spent in the South of France, Anthony Tortul began La Sorga in 2008 in the village of Lias in Languedoc-Roussillon, at the foothills of the Pyrenees, sourcing organic or biodynamic grapes from old vineyards, over 40 parcels, which he also personally followed. From 2013, he also started to work vineyards of his own, always by the purest viniculture ethos of organic or biodynamic farming.
Vinification Method: This wine, born from organically farmed old vines of mostly Grenache Blanc with a touch of Marsanne, is grown on clay-limestone soils. It ferments spontaneously with its native yeasts in whole bunches and sees a skin contact of 30-45 days in steel before elevage. Unfiltered, unfined, and with no added SO2.
Tasting notes: medium bodied, apricot, lemon zest, and pineapple
Pairings: grilled lamb with persian couscous and tatsiki
DRINK: NOW TO 2030
