Vinification method: Petr Marada is a natural wine producers from Moravia in the Czech Republic, who is quickly becoming known for his skin contact, orange wines. Their nearly-neon orange color and non-traditional bottling in clear bottles are absolutely eye-catching. This is but a tiny fraction of his winemaking abilities, though. His obsession with the Champagne region has led to a line of quite uncommon and remarkable Sekts. His white wines are excellent examples of how to do single varietal to bring out an expression of both grape and location, and his reds have a barrel aged depth that one rarely finds in colder climates. Petr Marada is certainly a talented producer and one of the best natural winemakers in the Czech Republic. And since we import them directly, these wines can only be found at Orange Glou!
Grapes are hand-harvested, then macerated on the skins for 3 weeks before being transferred to acacia barrels, where they rest on the lees for 8 months. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, minimal added SO2.
Tasting notes: light-bodied, meyer lemon, pineapple, candied ginger, white pepper
